How do you use liquid eye liner?

I bought liquid eye liner because they ran out of the pencil kind, and when i first tried it i put on eye shadow first, then i started the eye line. When i finished, My eyes looked like i drew on the upper lid. I figured thats how its suppose to look but then i looked in a magazine and its not. How do you apply liquid eye liner? I like liquid eye liners. I think they are very easy to use you should put eye shadow first and simply make a thin line very close to your eyelashes( you can make it thicker if you like: apply a thing one first - Just draw a straight line and add more by drawing on top of thin one to make it thicker - wider) I use liquid eye liners more then 10 years now and I cannot use anything else.

never tried liquid eyeliner, but i guess that you should apply it first, then wait for it to dry. then put on eyeshadow.
* STEP 1: Choose an eyeliner appropriate for your eye color. Brown, navy and charcoal accent light eyes well, while brown and plum shades flatter brown eyes. Make sure your liner complements the color of your shadow.


* STEP 2: Consider the type of look you're after. Pencil eyeliner gives your eyes soft definition, while liquid versions offer precision and drama. You can also moisten dark eye shadow and apply it with a small, flat brush.


* STEP 3: Prepare a cake liner or a dark eye shadow by applying a small amount of water to your brush. Or, if you're using a pencil eyeliner, ensure that you've sharpened the pencil adequately.


* STEP 4: Move the wet brush gently through your cake liner or dark shadow. Hold the brush or pencil as you would hold a pen.


* STEP 5: Tilt your head back slightly and bring your eyes to a half-open state. This creates a good angle for application, while allowing you to see what you're doing.


* STEP 6: Draw a line across the upper lid just above the lashes, from the inside corner to the outside corner of the eye. If you're using liquid liner, allow it to dry before opening your eyes all the way, or the color may transfer into the crease of your eye.


* STEP 7: If you used a brush or a pencil, soften the look by gently smudging the line with your brush, a cotton swab or your finger.


* STEP 8: Line the lower lids. Moving from the outside edge inward, draw a line on the outer two-thirds of the lid or more, depending on the look you're going for. Your line should be slightly thicker at the outside corner, becoming thinner as it moves in toward your nose. Using your brush or pencil, lightly stroke the area. If using a liquid liner, apply it in one smooth stroke. Apply less color so your eyes don't appear raccoon-like.





You can also use these steps to apply pencil eyeliner. Liquids and pencils are the same, only liquids is more dramatizing.
I think you should put the eyeliner on first, wait 30 seconds-ish, then take a q-tip and go across the line and smudge it a little (not too much) After that, carefully put your eyeshadow on, not to cover the eyeliner. This way, the eyeliner doesn't look too dark. It takes a lot of practice to get the wet eyeliner to work, but after some time, you should get a hang of it. Or you can just use the dry stuff which is waayy easier and less time consuming. good luck. xP
It it almost like putting on a pencil eye liner. With liquid it takes more time and you have to be more patient and go more slowly.
Use liquid eye liner just like regualar eye liner.
When applying liquid eye liner, its best to keep your eye closed until it dries. Since its liquid, you probably opened your eyes in a manner that made the liquid go on the upper lid before it got a chance to dry. Liquid eye liner takes some practice. I know a lot of people that have a hard time with this. There are two kinds that you can buy. There is one that has a long stem with a tiny brush at the tip and there is another that looks like a marker. The marker kind is better for beginners. The other kind is used if you know how to have a steady hand. It may help if you apply it really thin rather than thick. Another good idea would be to apply the eye liner before the eyeshadow and if you mess up, get a wet Q-tip and wipe off where you messed up. This cannot be done to water proof though. Just letting you know.
I use that stuff but you cant pull your eye if you know what i mean you have to use the tip not the hole thing and dont use that much just a little. and it takes practice and time. youll get it
