How to put eye liner at the top of your eye?

how do you get eyeliner at the top of your eye? I tried a million times, but it's so hard.. i always makes a really thick line, but i just want a thin line.. when i put a lot of eye shadow or eye liner, it makes my eyes smaller...

Either way is fine ....if you have small eyes be careful if you tight line because it will make your eye appear even smaller but if you have big eyes tight lining them ( in the rims ) makes them really stand out. Also if you take your pencil and line the top rim of you lashes it will make the lashes appear fuller. I would just practice and see what you like best ....one day when you have free time ...try lining one underneath the lashes and then do the other by lining the rims and see which one you like the best ....if you opt for lining the rims make sure you get a good waterproof liner .....





Smashbox came out with a liner that is like a gel that you brush on and it is formulated just for lining the rims of your eyes and I have it and it works great ....it doesn't irritate the eye nor does the liner float around in the eye .....I really like it.





Also the company tarte makes a pencil that is the same ....it is formulated for lining the rims of the eyes and doesn't float around or disappear or irritate them ....

Put on your mascara first so that when you pu ton your eyeliner you can rest the stick on your eyelashes.


For liquid:


Do small swipes of it. Doing big ones makes the line uneven. Continue all the way across your eye. And dab the brush off each time before you put it on, so that it doesnt get messy.


For pencil:


Go across in one easy motion and to make it darker just re-line it.





To keep it to stay all day, put powder over your eye before putting on mascara
start with a pencil eyeliner, i find them the easiest. just pull your eyelid and drag it slowly at the very edge with the liner halfway off of you lid, it makes the line not as thick. also, look at youtube videos, they are really helpful and much more easier to follow then reading posts describing how people do it.
Well if I'm putting liquid stuff I pull the skin beside my eye slightly so it is straight then just run it along as close to my eyelash line as I can.





But I have the same problem so I usually opt for black eyeshadow and just dampen it slightly then get a small brush with a thin, flat end and put it as close to my eyelash line - works much better and makes eyelashes look thicker.

1. Take your eyeliner, and go really close to a mirror.


2. Close your eyes half-way.


3. Draw a THIN line right on your lash line. Make it as close to your lashes as you possibly can.


4. Repeat, if you want a thicker line.


5. To blend, take your pinky and go over the line.
