How do u put eye liner on the top of you lids without messing up?

I TRIED FOREVER,BUT CAN NEVER GET IT RIGHT..How do u put eye liner on the top of you lids without messing up?
use eyeliner that is not watery....and if you mess it up, you can smudge it down...easy!How do u put eye liner on the top of you lids without messing up?
just practice

it came easily for me

you have to get over the nervousness and shaking hands.

thinking you will mess up will make you mess up.

try pulling the outside of your eye so that it is smooth.

then just draw a straight line.
It's really simple and a lot of people think they could never apply it right..are amazed at how easyand how diferently it can be applied.

From the outer corner of the eye..take your finger tips and push the eye area toward your hairline so that you eye looks tight and almost squinted and slanted....assuming you're using a pencil (please try a soft pencil first, so that it glides on smoohly)..start at the outer corner and you stay as close to the lash line as possible...you can make small feathery strokes or a fine all over line...work in all the way to the inner corner. With this technique you can look at your finished look and even ';wing out'; the liner on the outer corner JUST a tad for a more dramatic evening look.

For a simple flattering day look..use the same technique only instead of going from corner to corner of the top lid...only go 1/3 of the way....what you will want to do is start at the outer corner and gradully in a few tiny strokes decrease the line until you're 1/3 of the way across your lid...this combined with mascara that you will coat all your lashes with..but apply 2 coats and focus on sweeping the lases in an outward motion toward the temple...gives a fresh fuller lash look with a really eye opening effect.

Liquid liner is a bit more bold looking and pretty..but takes a lot more practice and patience to get it just right....so don't attempt this if you're getting ready to leave home..try this at home maybe at night when you have some down time.

Either look is great and as always don't ever forget the mascara if you're going to use liner...and always curl those lashes. Remember you're creating an entire eye look..the liner is just an addition to the final product!...

With a few times you will have it down...always keep q-tips on hand in case you get a smudge here or there...don't smear it even more...by tapping a q-tip in your pressed face powder an dabbing it on the area that got the smudge..it's all ready to go...if that doesn't for some reason cover it..do the same thing onloy with concealer...but only a touch!

If you want to minimize larger eyes or just give a more awesome effect for day or night...line the inner rim of the bottom lid as well...if you're not comfortable with it...then don't until you're cozy with your liner all together. Just remember to not OVER do it...typically if you line your upper lid...that paired with mascara on the top AND bottom lashes, is a beautiful look and very flattering...but I always like to add the little extra oomph to the inner lower lid...but only use a soft pencil liner for that...as liquid can burn when placed on the inner rim.

Also try maybe first a soft pencil liner that has a smudger on the opposite end...and just line 1/3 of the way and use the smudger much like you would an eraser of a pencil..but lightly to smooth the liner across the rest of the way...this is a softer look as well....but good for those first trying to get used to the hang of using liner.

Just 2 of the best liners out there for this is Cover Girl soft pencil liner (it has a smudger on the end)..I use this in Black Onyx...this has been a favorite for a long time. It goes on REALLY smooth so you don't have to stab your eye out trying to get it to glide on.

Another is Estee Lauder's Soft Pencil Liner in Blackest Black...(this does not have a smudger)..but again q-tips can be used for as a smudger. And this ones goes on extremely easily as well.....

REMEMBER that because it says SOFT doesn't mean the color is soft..it just means that the liner itself is soft and glides on easily and smoothly.

Always keep your pencil liner sharpened after every use if at all possible..and never share it with others. Throw it out and buy a new one after about 6 months..and remove eye makeup every night..properly. Soap and water are not any sort of makeup removers..especially eyes. Use a specific eye makeup remover...they're not expensive.

If you get the hang of it and decide to try the liquid liner...first try one that is much like a felt tip pen..I like those the best of all liquid liners..just remember to shake them before each use, otherwise the color can settle to one end and your black will be blue....eeek.

Hope this helps!
type in michellephan into youtube. she has great tutorials and she has one on applying eyeliner. its a great help trust me :]

she also suggests not to pull the sides of your eyes because it will promote pre mature sagging and wrinkling around the corner of your eyes.
try pulling the ends of your eyes so that it turns slanted

it gives u a better more open space to apply it.

liquid liner is easy to erase if u make a mistake

but pencil liner is easier to apply.
i have had this problem aswell. there are two simple tricks one if you want the eyeliner to be unnoticed and one if you would like it abit more dramatic.

if you want it unnoticed keep your eye open and draw it right through your lashes ( pencil works best here otherwise you may have to hold the lashes out of the way to keep from getting liquid liner on them).

if you are looking for more dramatic hold your top eyelid while shutting your eye pull on the eye lid slightly to the outside ( away from the nose ) and up you will be able to see your lashline and there will be no creases from your lid in the way of your line so you can add detail and get your liner just right.

also if lining with liquid wait 30 seconds before opening your eye just to make sure the line is dry and will not smudge.
Try breaking it down in smaller strokes instead of trying to make a long straight streak. No matter how steady you feel your stands are, we are all human. We'll shake sometimes if we're feeling unsteady.

Here's a good tutorial I found about applying all sorts of eyeliners:

Hope that was a little clearer!
That's not a good idea.

your eyelashes could fall out, it happened to my sister.
i put it ontop of my lashes on the bottom and close my eye and slighly pat it with my finger. wala instant liner on the top. then reapply on the bottom. i apply on the lash line for a more natural look. i dont go above the lashes
try different pencils. u may need a really thin one. maybelline makes this one called line stylist, its really thing. or a soft liner. practice w different kinds.
