allergic to something in it. If thats what it is and ideas what to do about it or what type of eyeliner to use? HELP...........please. ThanksOk. Everytime I put on eye liner my eyes get all funkey and red. Any ideas why. Ive been told that I might be?
You should look for an eyeliner that is hypoallergenic, which will reduce the likelihood of you having an allergic reaction. A good hypoallergenic brand is Physician's Formula. They have a couple of varieties to choose from in both liquid and pencil form.
Also to save a few bucks, go to a drugstore such as Walgreen's to buy cosmetics. If you end up not liking the product (or get a funky reaction) they allow you to exchange it with a receipt. I usually do this when trying something new.Ok. Everytime I put on eye liner my eyes get all funkey and red. Any ideas why. Ive been told that I might be?
First of all throw out your old one. If u have an eye infection the bacteria can live on the applicators, so thats your first step.
Then buy any hypoallergenic eyeliner. Steer clear of cheap unbranded ones.
Don't completely shy away from eyeliners, Clinique has a large line of hypoallergenic eyeliners, which ever kind you use liquid or pencil. And im thinking that you've probably just gotten ahold of a bad brand. So check it out, Clinique is available at Sephora.com as well as most department stores!
before giving up try almay, my eye dr gives the eyeliner, mascara and eyeshadow for christmas. also, dont line the inner rims, next to your eyeball, go just under the bottom lashes and just above the upper. btw if this doesnt help i would go to the eye dr, quick. you may have an infection that can be cleared up with drops. and remember to sharpen the pencil liners every day, keeps bacteria down.
this happened to me for YEARS, only mine was on and off because i switched brands of eyeliner. first you might want to try switching to a hypoallergenic brand like almay or clinique. If that works, great! if not, don't worry. Hypoallergenic is really just an intelligent-sounding way of saying ';there arent scents and other really irritating things in here.'; You could still be allergic to something in those... If you'd really like to wear eyeliner (or it happens with other makeup too, like eyeshadows) you can go to a dermatologist and ask for a patch test involving makeup ingredients. It's really simple (they put stickers on your back for 2 days, whatever you react to is something you're allergic to) and you can find out exactly what it is thats bugging you and avoid it.
Just a tip, for me it was nickel, cobalt, and chromium. All of those are really common in makeup, esp chromium - but there's plenty of stuff without it, just read lables before you buy the makeup. Bare Essentials mineral makeup is a tad more expensive, but most of it is nearly impossible to be allergic to lol.
I would stay away from eye liner altogether. Some people cannot wear any make-up at all because they are sensitive to the products.
Do NOT fool around with your eyes. Stop using eye liner. It is not worh the risk.
Get the sensitive eyes mascara from Bee-Luscious. It has aloe and chamomile in it to ';sooth'; your eyes. It is also hypoallergenic. Just look up Bee-Luscious on Google.
I could not find a solution when this happened to me. I had to stop using the product becasuse it was so irritating and embarrassing to have the stufff runng down my face due to watery eyes caused by who knows what. I looked like a ghost for about a year and finally made a decision.
I had to call ahead and get an appointment because this is not a walk in service. I got permanate tatoo eyeliner. been quite happy ever since. That ran me 300.00 at the time.plus a deposit ahead of time. I have friends that did the same thing later at the same salon. The last friend I had that got upper and lower done paind 550.OO I know this is not a solution for everyone. Was I scared. You better believe I was scared. Best of luck to you.
Like Mel C said, get a really good liner and I'll add that you shouldn't slather it on the inside of your lashes. Some people can get away with doing this but if your eyes are sensitive then try a dark brown along the outside edge of your lashes. Black never seems to look right with this technique but dark brown should be great. Oh and make sure your pencil is sharp so you get a nice clean line, not too thick.
Good luck.
get a different brand of eye liner. sounds like you are allergic.
